Flights of Darkness and Fancy
A downloadable LARP
A somewhat silly game of fairy politics, mystery, and murder (designed for Zoom) over three acts for up to 11 people
The throne of the fairy court is empty – the fairy king vanished in a magical explosion along with the coveted Rod of Rulership and Roberts’ Rules of Order. A Conclave has been called, and the leaders of the great fairy houses – as well as opportunistic outsiders and newly minted nobles – have gathered to elect a new monarch and set the course of fairy government for ages to come. It is a time of renewal and rebirth; old pacts and promises are void, and new pacts must be forged!
Meanwhile the palace is strangely undamaged by the explosion, though there’s magic residue over everything, making it hard to properly investigate the aftermath of the king’s disappearance. Whatever happened to the fairy king, anyway? Not that it matters much, everything will be scrubbed down and tidied away once a new monarch is elected.
Disclaimer: This is a Live Action Role Playing Game (LARP) for Pandemic Times. It requires every player to have access to a computer, an internet connection, and the current version of Zoom software. The game is specifically designed around the self-selecting Breakout Room functionality, facilitating large-party gaming by splitting players into small, manageable groups that change frequently over the course of the night. If you can make this work with other technology, go for it! And when the pandemic is over, play in person!
